Charity partner announced at end-of-year celebrations

DUA celebrated a successful 2022 with a look to the future when clients were invited to its amazing Mayfair offices for a pre-Christmas drink.

CEO Rakesh Dua used the opportunity to reflect on another successful year as he revealed plans for 2023.

Watford’s One YMCA was announced as the charity partner for next year, with last Monday’s event also being used to raise funds for the organisation.

Rakesh spoke of his pride in supporting the company’s clients through the pandemic period. He said: “Everyone found it really difficult. But we adapted our services to provide the support that was needed at that time.”

He also reflected on the success of the new in-house talent academy and announced that all DUA employees would receive a budget for their own skills development next year.

Among his other highlights was the membership of INAA an international accounting association. “This allows us to support our clients as they grow their ambitions and set trading goals beyond the UK. It will also help us collaborate and work with other professionals in championing the UK and seeking inward investment.”

Looking ahead to another challenging year, Rakesh explained he was keen to embrace automation and support the firm’s clients to become “digitally enabled”.

“I also want us to deliver the services and insights our clients are going to need in the very difficult period that is likely to happen – from business plans, supporting them at strategy sessions, providing financial forecasts and looking at specific KPIs, cashflow issues, finding finance and tougher due diligence on the viability of investments, capex and key operational decisions. That is just an outline…the services are very much focused on providing stability in an unstable world.”

An auction at the event raised £3,000 for One YMCA with lots including tickets to Warner Bros. Studio Tour, exclusive football hospitality tickets and much more.

“As a leader, we have to stand out for what we believe in … our ethics and our values. We need to make our communities better which is why I am delighted to have One YMCA as our charity partner for 2023.”
